True Grass Farms

I got my real start with land stewardship while living at True Grass Farms from 2012 - 2015. We were an inspiring group of young farmers, artists, musicians, and researchers, trying to figure out how to produce healthy food in a healthy way. We raised grass fed and finished beef, pastured pork, lamb, chicken eggs for a time, and we grew trees in the notoriously intense “Petaluma Wind Gap.” 

My installations here over the years took many forms. Some of which include:

  • 5 Acres of Silvopasture / Savanna plantings of Oak and Chestnut trees.
  • Thousands of feet of hedgerows of native plant species. 
  • Riparian forest buffers
  • Thousands of feet of hugulkultur swales 
  • Fruit tree / orchard plantings
  • Pollinator mound gardens
  • Overhang installation
  • Yurt construction
  • Living trellis structures with woven plum trees
  • Hosting farm tours & corporate parties, a wedding
