Since we were already planning to pass through Tucson after our trip to the Chiricahua, we easily scooted up to 4500’ on Mt Lemmon and pulled right up to a beautiful grove of Q. Oblongifolia in full mast, loaded with freshly fallen and perfectly ripe acorns, prime for a new crop of rare, evasive, yet beautiful and appropriate west native oaks.
